20 Weeks, Half Way There!

20 Weeks

I am almost at the end of 20 weeks and feel pretty good! It's hard to believe I am half way through this pregnancy and we are that much closer to meeting our little guy. It seems that most of my weight gain has been in the stomach area, so I can't imagine what this bump will look like in another 15 weeks.

I am finally feeling our baby boy move around. He is quite active in the evening or maybe it's just because I am relaxing and paying more attention.  Most of the time it still feels like a flutter but there have been a few moments where the movements have been much stronger and really surprised me. I can't wait for Ryan to feel him too because it is one of the best feelings in the world!

Visiting in Columbus

Last weekend, we were back in Columbus to attend my cousin Emily's wedding. We had a wonderful time with family and friends and the wedding was absolutely beautiful! While visiting, we found our crib and dresser for the nursery at My Own Room Children's Furniture store. I was so happy to check something off of our "To Do" list. The design of the crib is described as a "fusion of elegant and traditional mission craftsmanship."It was the perfect combination of what we were looking for and the color I loved, vanilla. Thank you to my wonderful husband for agreeing to an off-white color; not his first choice. Another big thank you to Grandma Davis because she gave us the money to purchase the crib. We look forward to preparing the room so that we can set up the crib and dresser.

We also received lots of baby clothes from friends and family while visiting. One would have thought I had a mini shower while home in Columbus. Every outfit was so adorable and I look forward to dressing our little guy in them. Thank you so much. Ryan and I are very fortunate to have such amazing family and friends!

Congrats to the beautiful couple, Mr. and Mrs. Bannan!

Uncle Drew and I comparing our bellies at the reception. He is so goofy but that's why I love him!

Cocoon 2000 Series  Collection: our crib minus the purple bedding.
Dresser / Changing Table
After returning back to North Carolina, we also received our Pack 'N Play. Thank you to Ryan's parents for purchasing this while visiting the week before. We love it!

So, we're at 20 weeks, half way there. I would say we are off to a good start!

IT'S A BOY!

On Wednesday (my mom and dad's anniversary), Ryan and I found out that baby Davis is a baby boy. Personally, I'm hoping for a mini version of Ryan. We are so excited and have already started thinking about colors, patterns, and decorative ideas for the nursery. At this point we are thinking birds & owls or a beach theme. I think once we head back to Columbus this weekend and shop around a little, we might have a better idea. Our first step right now is to decide on some of the big things, like a crib, car seat and stroller. We have a lot to do in the next five months and since shopping is my middle name, I can't wait!

Pictures from ultrasound:
My favorite one; his tiny little feet are so adorable!

This is a picture of his long legs! At the appointment, we learned all of the measurements were above 75%. The doctor warned us, this will not be a small baby. I already had a feeling since I was a 9.5 lb baby. Ryan was a preemie and only weighed 5.14 lbs, so the doctor joked that this is all my fault.

This was the best profile shot the tech could get. Our little boy was very squirmy and it was hard for her to get a good picture. His head is in the bottom right and big belly (mama feeds him good) in the middle.

Preschool Predictions

Today I asked my little kiddos to make a prediction about the gender of my baby. Here are the results of our graph. Having a class full of three year olds, I was sure the boys would pick a boy and the girls would pick a girl but they surprised me. Looks like most of them are thinking it will be a baby girl. Ryan and I can't wait for tomorrow and I'm so excited to share the news with my class.
